SustainWeb

Sustain: The alliance for better food and farming advocates food and agriculture policies and practices that enhance the health and welfare of people and animals, improve the working and living environment, enrich society and culture and promote equity. We represent around 100 national public interest organisations working at international, national, regional and local level.

Young People's Trust for the Environment

Picture
"The Young People's Trust for the Environment is a charity which aims to encourage young people's understanding of the environment and the need for sustainability."

The People's Supermarket

Picture
"The People’s Supermarket Mission statement:
Our vision is to create a commercially sustainable, social enterprise that achieves its growth and profitability targets whilst operating within values based on community development and cohesion. Our intent is to offer an alternative food buying network, by connecting an urban community with the local farming community".

www.findafountain.org

Picture
http://www.findafountain.org/ is mapping all free water sources across the UK. Currently in Crystal Palace we are very dry and do not have even a tap yet! If you know of a water source locally, be it in a shop or a public fountain or tap, let's all work together and swamp this site with watering holes.
Reason:
  • 150 billion bottles are flung away every year, that's it flung away and not recycled.
Aim:
  • Increase knowledge about the number of free water sources across the country and make them easier to find.
  • No longer rely on buying bottled water and becoming proud to refill.
