Have  yourself  an  eco-friendly  Christmas!

Picture
Saturday 10 December, 2pm-5pm  Outside Sainsbury’s in Upper Norwood
We all love to indulge at Christmas but it can generate masses of waste paper, which has a negative impact on the environment. Even if it's recycled, this still takes huge amounts of energy - and costs us in council tax. At Crystal Palace Transition Town’s first Christmas event, James our expert eco-gift wrapper showed local shoppers some of his simple, free, low-impact ideas for making their own gift wrapping, crackers, cards, tree decorations, stockings, diaries and calendars.

Thanks to everyone who took part!

Eco Friendly Christmas Workshop
Sunday 18 December 2012 10am - 12pm
Antenna Studios in Crystal Palace
(off Haynes Lane, SE19 3AN)

If you feel Christmas is slightly excessive and wasteful, but still enjoy it, come and learn how to massively reduce your footprint over the festive period.

We'll be showing you how to make recycled crackers, cards, tree decorations, stockings, diaries and calendars, reusable gift wrapping and advent calendars, and much more…

None of us have a lot of time, but we like nice things. So all these items have been fine-tuned to be dead simple and quick to make from items found around the home or in your recycling bin, and to look better - yes better! - than their non-eco equivalents.

Free entry, although donations are welcomed.
